DUI Crackdown In Glendale Nets Six Arrests
The Leader has reported that six motorists were arrested last weekend for driving under the influence by the Glendale Police Departement.
The arrests came as part of an "AVOID the 100" sweep. The AVOID program, first launched in the winter of 1973, was incepted as a means of bringing law enforcement agencies together to crack down on the instance of DUI and to help reduce the number of injuries and deaths caused based on alcohol-related accidents.
A total of 64 passenger vehicles were stopped during the sobriety patrol, the Leader reports. In addition to the six DUI arrests, two drivers were arrested on suspicion of driving without a license and one vehicle was impounded.
