Glendale Police Recognized By CHP

The Glendale News-Press has reported that the Glendale Police Department received accolades from the California Highway Patrol for its efforts in education, traffic safety and enforcement efforts.

The department competed against similarly sized agencies, including the first place-winning Bakersfield Police Department and the third-place winning Riverside Police Department. The acknowledgement came as part of the 2010 California Law Enforcement Challenge. Police Chief Ron De Pompa said that much of its success could be attributed to the Police Department's Traffic Bureau, which secured "more than $1 million in grant funding" to support its efforts.
